This week, Britain's statistical authority, the Office for National Statistics released a heap of data examining how much British workers earn in bonuses on top of their basic salaries.
"During the financial year ending 2017 (April 2016 to March 2017), the whole economy average bonus per employee has increased to just over £1,600, which is 5.3% higher than the previous financial year," the ONS said.
As usual, those working in financial services and insurance — a sector that includes banking — got the biggest bonuses in the last financial year.
Bonuses are, by definition changeable as they are tied to performance, but the broader trend suggests that workers saw their bonuses grow across a range of sectors.
Check out the professions where workers get the biggest bonuses below.
T16. Transport and storage — £900: At an average of £900 per year, transport workers don't exactly get an earth shattering bonus, but it is more than many professions such as teaching and social work.
T16. Food products, beverage and tobacco — £900: Workers in this sector have seen their average bonus packet drop from £1,000 last year.
T12. Administrative and support services — £1,100: Helping out with the day to day running of businesses, administrative workers are invaluable, and saw their average bonus rise £200 last year.
