WWDC, watchOS 4 is certainly something worth taking note of. There are plenty of new features coming to the Apple Watch, so it can be tough to keep track of what's new!
Here's everything you need to know about watchOS 4!
New watch faces

Siri watch face that automatically displays what's most relevant to you: reminders, photo memories, dynamically updated whenever you raise your wrist! There are also sunrise/sunset features, home app features, news app updates, and coaching for Activities.

A Kaleidoscope face, that shifts and moves and creatures unique, custom designs based on the photo you choose to use.

A brand new collection of Toy Story watch faces with popular characters from the beloved animated films like Jesse, Woody, and Buzz Lightyear, there will even move around on your screen with different animations.

Create custom watch faces directly from the photos app on your iPhone! Just bring up your Share Sheet on the photo you want, and swipe through the options until you find the Create Custom Watch Face options. This will bring you into your Watch app on your iPhone and let you customized your new custom watch face.
Flashlight
In the Control Center of the watchOS 4 there's a new Flashlight feature, which allows causes the Apple Watch screen to go completely white and shine as brightly as possible. There is also a strobe flashlight and a red-light flashlight.
New Activity features
With watchOS 4, new activity features remind you how to reach goals/what you need to do to reach your goals every day. There will also be new monthly challenges that help you beat or accomplish something! Here's a quick breakdown of these features.
Daily Inspiration: Your Apple Watch will send you personalized Activity progress updates the moment you throw the watch on your wrist. You'll be able to see what achievements you're close to accomplishing and your watch will even encourage you to keep your streaks going.
Evening Push: As the day is winding down, your Apple Watch will let you know what goals you still need to meet by the end of the day. The watch will even suggest a way how to accomplish these goals, by giving you an idea on what get of activity to do.
Monthly Challenge: Your Apple Watch will create personalized monthly challenges for you based on your activity for the previous month. You'll be able to see your progress on these challenges at any time in the Activity app on your iPhone.
Celebrations: New animations show smaller celebrations for everyday successes, and larger ones for every time you reach a bigger goal. Pictured above is an example of one of these new animations!
New Workout features
The Workout app got a few significant upgrades making it even more useful for tracking workouts including, enhanced swim tracking, quick start capabilities, and even high-intensity training. watchOS 4 will even be able to connect to certain gym equipment to better sync your data from the machine you're using to the Workout app. Here's a breakdown of what these new features have in store for you.
Quick Start: You can now start any workout with just a tap of your finger. Select the Workout you want and it will start right after a quick three-second countdown.
High-Intensity Interval Training: Apple has modified the heart rate and motion algorithms in watchOS 4 to better accommodate high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Now, your Apple Watch should be able to better monitor your calories burned during HIIT workouts.
Enhanced Swim Tracking: The updated Pool Swim workout will now automatically track sets and rests, meaning you have less work to do when you splash into the water. Plus, your watchOS 4 can also record the pace for each set and the distance for each type of stroke.
Gym Equipment Sync: Pair your Apple Watch to compatible gym equipment and have your crucial workout data — like heart rate, calories burned, and speed — in sync. New machines from companies like Life Fitness, TechnoGym, Star Trac, Schwinn, Matrix, Stair Master, and Cybex will be available this fall.
Quick Switch: If you're training for a big event like a triathlon, Quick Switch is bound to come in handy. In watchOS 4 you'll be able to start another workout without ending the previous workout, so you can jump on your bike after a swim and not miss a beat. When you do end the workout, all your activity will be displayed in the final summary and give you an overview of all the key metrics you need.
Do Not Disturb: During any workout, watchOS 4 will automatically turn on Do Not Disturb mode allowing you to enjoy your spin class without getting notifications. Silence is golden.
Music app
The Music app on Apple Watch is also getting a few new tricks to help you listen to the music you want when you want. Here's a breakdown of what to expect in the Music app come watchOS 4.
Automatic Sync: All the Apple-curated playlists in the Music app will now sync automatically to your Apple Watch, meaning you'll always have the Heavy Rotation, Favorites Mix, and New Music Mix playlists at your disposal. A quick reminder that you'll need an Apple Music subscription to see all the options.
Person-to-Person Payments
Upgrades to Apple Pay on the Apple Watch will allow users to make and receive person-to-person payments with their friends and family through Messages or using Siri. When you receive a payment, that money will be placed into your new Apple Pay Cash account, which will allow you to immediately send it to someone else, make payments with Apple Pay, or transfer it directly to your bank account.
Native Core Bluetooth
New in watchOS 4 comes support native core Bluetooth for the ability to link and work with smaller wireless products: things like continuous glucose monitoring, info from your surfboard as your in the water, and so, so much more.
