Updated June 16, 2017: Step into the role of your favorite 80s horror villains in Slayaway Camp! Also this week, new titles from iconic franchises Asphalt Racing and Angry Birds.
There are thousands and thousands of games available in the Google Play Store, with more being added every month. With so much content hitting the app store, it can be damn near impossible to keep up with all the latest releases and determine which games are worth your time.
Here at Android Central, we want to help. We'll be using this space to let you know about the latest gaming releases for Android that we think deserve your attention. We'll be checking in and updating this page weekly as new games are released, so refresh often!
Slayaway Camp
Slayaway Camp has finally made its way to Android and it was well worth the wait! This celebrated puzzler is packed with gratuitous cartoon violence based on all your favorite horror movie monsters from the past.
This game is steeped in retro goodness and an ode to those who remember watching campy horror movies on VHS tapes. In terms of gameplay, it's a sliding puzzle game wherein you play as the bloodthirsty killer stalking unwitting campers and other victims. As you progress you'll need to really take the time to determine your path so you don't get stuck in a corner, caught in a trap set up by the campers, or arrested by the police.
When you first play the game you get to choose between more family-friendly experience, or the full-on ultra-violent version, which you can toggle at any time in the options. There are over 140 levels, which are presented as scenes and spread over 11 different horror video tapes. Right now, you can get Slayaway Camp for a special launch price of only $1.99, and it's well worth it.

Asphalt Street Storm Racing
The most popular racing franchise on mobile takes on drag racing in its newest title Asphalt Street Storm Racing. It's a different format from the other games in the Asphalt series, but still includes the same awesome graphics and suped-up cars that fans have come to expect.
A key feature of this game is 4-player multiplayer races that are similar to SUP Multiplayer Racing — a game that was featured in this space last week — except it focuses on nailing perfectly-timed shifts over everything else.
If you've played and enjoyed other drag racing games such as CSR Racing 2, you're going to love Asphalt Street Storm Racing. It's got a ton of customization and upgrades available for the game's collection of licensed cars, which range from old-school muscle cars to supercharged speed machines. There are options to bet in-game currency or pink slips on races as you take on opponents in scenic locations around the world. Pedal to the metal!

Angry Birds Evolution
Angry Birds is the franchise that just keeps giving. This latest entry strays from the classic Angry Birds gameplay style we all know and love, offering a unique take for the next chapter in the war between the birds and those egg-stealing green pigs.
In Evolution, you're still launching birds at pigs, but instead of figuring out arcing shots to take down structures, you launch your birds along the ground as they bounce and cause damage to the pigs. There's a familiar element of strategy as you try and line up shots and use your birds' superpowers most effectively, except now we're in 3D and the pigs are fighting back!
Angry Birds Evolution delivers over 100 new angry birds, which you unlock and evolve as you play through the campaign. It's a fun and new take on the Angry Birds format that fans should appreciate. There's even a multiplayer element you can unlock — The Oinktagon — where you can challenge other players to PvP tournaments in Bird Island's favorite pastime, Pigball.
