As long as you have the VLC software, you don’t need any other-party tools to rip DVD.

So if you have VLC installed, here’s how to rip any DVD with it.

Insert the DVD in your system CD-Rom.

Open the VLC software on your computer.

Click on the Media tab at the top and select Convert/Save.

Then click on the Disc tab.

Then select the DVD option under Disc Selection. If you ever come across any errors, head back here and select the “No disc” menus option too. It’s not typically required, but just in case.

Now, select the DVD drive location.

Then click on Convert/Save at the bottom.

Select the codec and particulars you’d like to use for the rip under Profile.

Now click on the Browse button and select the destination and filename for the finished rip, and then click on  Save.

Then click on Start.
