How to Remove Attachments from Mail App in Mac OS X

Attachments sometimes create unnecessary load on your mail. But users get to know only when they attach some documents or photos & videos to the emails in Draft mode.
Before you hit the Send button on your Mac OS X, you can remove one or more than one attachments to keep your emails “lightweight”. Moreover, it will quickly be delivered into the mailbox of recipients. But remember, once you remove any attachment, you cannot bring it back locally; you need to go back to your computerto attach the file.
We present here two methods to remove attachments: deleting attachments from single mail and removing attachments from multiple emails in Mail app.

How to Remove Attachments from Single Mail in Mac OS X

Step #1. Open an email from Mail inbox.
Step #2. Select the email to remove the attachment from OR you can open the email.
Step #3. Click on Messages from top navigation.
Step #4. Click on “Remove Attachments”.
Click on Remove Attachments in Mail App on MacYou will see a dialog box on your Mac’s screen: The attachment (file name) has been manually removed.
Remove Attachments from Multiple Emails in Mail App on Mac
Step #1. Open the primary Mail app.
Step #2. Hit Command+A (this will select all emails seen on the screen.)
Press Command and A on Mac Keyboard
Step #3. Click on Message from the top navigation.
Step #4. From the drop-down menu, click on Remove Attachments.
Delete Multiple Attachments from Mail in Mac OS X
If you want to remove attachments from Drafts, Sent Mail, and Trash folder, follow the similar steps.
In both methods to remove attachments, make sure that you don’t remove documents from the system as Mail app doesn’t store your document or file as a backup.
